The Impact of Self-Regulated Strategy Development on Enhancing Saudi Female English majors’ Reading Comprehension Skills and Self-Efficacy

The present study investigated the impact of self-regulated strategy development reading intervention on improving Saudi female English majors’ skills and self-efficacy. is significant with respect to its implication for pedagogy as a foreign/second language that hopefully may broaden insights into process self-efficacy among university students. addressed three main research questions: (1) What effect enhancing first-year comprehension skills? (2) self-efficacy? (3) relationship between students’ Based quasi-experimental design, two intact classes EFL majors at college languages Translation, Imam University, were randomly assigned groups (control experimental). experimental group students (N=40) taught using development, while control traditional teaching method. data collected from equivalent tests (pre-and post-tests) scale. results revealed statistically differences groups’ mean scores post-tests in favor group. Results also indicated an enhancement subskills, Pedagogical implications instruction recommendations future studies are discussed.
